Israel massakriert das palästinensische Volk in Gaza, der zwischenimperialistische Krieg in der Ukraine fordert weiterhin Zehntausende Leben, demokratische und soziale Rechte werden vom Kapital überall in Europa angegriffen. Eine starke kommunistische Bewegung ist notwendiger als je zuvor – und doch haben Kommunisten nur in wenigen europäischen Ländern einen nennenswerten Einfluss auf die Arbeiterklasse, geschweige denn, dass sie ihre Aufgabe als Avantgarde erfüllen könnten. Die Ursache unserer Schwäche ist klar: Es ist der Opportunismus, das Abweichen von grundlegenden Erkenntnissen des Marxismus-Leninismus, der Verrat am proletarischen Internationalismus, der zur Zerschlagung des Sozialismus in der Sowjetunion, in Osteuropa und in China geführt hat, der viele kommunistische Parteien in das bürgerliche System integriert oder zerstört hat. In den letzten Jahren erhebt der rechte Opportunismus sein Haupt in neuer Gestalt – in der Form von Kräften, die oberflächlich betrachtet eine kommunistische Identität verteidigen, sich auf den Marxismus-Leninismus berufen und die Institutionen des westlichen Imperialismus wie NATO und EU ablehnen, aber gleichzeitig dafür werben, dass die Arbeiterklasse sich unter der Fahne anderer Mächte innerhalb des imperialistischen Weltsystems sammelt, die versuchen, gegen die Vorherrschaft der USA, der EU und Japans einen konkurrierenden imperialistischen Pol zu bilden. Insbesondere sehen wir diese Form des Opportunismus in Form der Unterstützung für die kapitalistischen Mächte Russland und China. Besonders problematisch ist die Unterstützung Chinas deshalb, weil sie durch die Übernahme des antimarxistischen Begriffs „Sozialismus mit chinesischen Charakteristika“ auch eine Aufgabe des marxistischen Verständnisses vom Sozialismus bedeutet.
Solche negativen Entwicklungen in der kommunistischen Bewegung Europas, besonders die Unterstützung Russlands im imperialistischen Krieg machten die Auflösung der Europäischen Kommunistischen Initiative zu einer bedauerlichen Notwendigkeit – so wie sie heute die Gründung der Europäischen Kommunistischen Aktion notwendig machen. Wir begrüßen diese Entscheidung als einen positiven Schritt, um die Zusammenarbeit und Koordination der kommunistischen Parteien Europas auf einer gemeinsamen inhaltlichen Grundlage zu verstärken.

Israel is massacring the Palestinian people in Gaza, the inter-imperialist war in Ukraine continues to claim tens of thousands of lives, democratic and social rights are under attack by capital all over Europe. A strong communist movement is more necessary than ever before – and yet communists only in a few European countries have any significant influence on the working class, let alone fulfill their role as a vanguard. The cause of our weakness is clear: it is opportunism, the deviation from the fundamental insights of Marxism-Leninism, the betrayal of proletarian internationalism, which led to the destruction of socialism in the Soviet Union, in Eastern Europe and in China, which led many communist parties to be intregrated into the bourgeois system or destroyed altogether
In recent years, right-wing opportunism in a new guise – in the form of forces that superficially defend a communist identity, invoke Marxism-Leninism and reject the institutions of Western imperialism such as NATO and the EU, but at the same time advocate that the working class rally under the banner of other powers within the world imperialist system that seek to form a competing imperialist pole against the domination of the US, EU and Japan. In particular, we see this form of opportunism in the form of support for the capitalist powers Russia and China. Support for China is particularly problematic because, by adopting the anti-Marxist concept of “socialism with Chinese characteristics”, it also means abandoning the Marxist understanding of socialism.
Such negative developments in the European communist movement, especially the support of Russia in the imperialist war, made the dissolution of the European Communist Initiative a regrettable necessity – just as they make the founding of European Communist Action necessary today. We welcome this decision as a positive step towards strengthening the cooperation and coordination of the European Communist Parties on a common substantive basis. We declare our readiness to support the work of European Communist Action and will shortly apply for membership.
